Graduation & Commissioning--check!

So we did it! We both graduated last weekend. Ben was also commissioned into the Navy...yay!! Last weekend really flew by.

Now it feels like this week (well, really the past 2 days) have been the longest of my life. I have so much to do between now and Saturday (seriously...there's a 3-page list). Forgive me if I don't blog for another week and a half (don't leave me!) I'm just going to be preparing for the wedding, the day will come, and then jetting off to our honeymoon with my new husband :)

Big Weekend

It's Thursday!!!! Which means three big things:

-Ben's commissioning is tomorrow!            (GO NAVY)

-Our graduations are Saturday!                    (GO VT)

-Our wedding is a mere NINE days away!    (GO US)

Funny Story

Ben came to pick me up on campus (around 8AM) after my last final so I wouldn't have to wait for the bus. We came back to his house and I napped while he wrote his paper. Let me preface this by saying that I almost never talk in my sleep. I'm more of a tosser/turner...all night....but no talking. That's creepy. Katherine always used to be a talker in her sleep. Not sure if she still does it, I will have to ask Shon (haha). Anyway, once I woke up (around 2:30PM, mind you!!) Ben started laughing. I said "Why are you laughing?" And he said, "While you were sleeping you said the funniest thing.....you said:
-"Why would you do that?!"
-And Ben (thinking I might be awake) replied "DO What??"
-I replied: "Wear such an obscenity!!!"
HAHAHA. What can I say. A girl who lives by fashion also dreams about it too!

Finals are almost over!!

Things just don't settle down when you're this close do they?? I've been taking finals the last couple of days. Tomorrow is my last one....yayyy!!!! I can't believe we're graduating this Saturday :( VT was the best. I hope to come back to Blacksburg with Katherine & Shon and Holly & Arthur for many more football games...next time as an alumni!! So this week I've got to work on getting graduation necessities (like cap & gown, that sort of thing) and.......packing for our honeymoon!! Can you believe I'm already packing because I cannot. Most of my clothes are down here anyway so I've gotta pack a few of them up to take home with me this weekend! My goodness time has really flown by. I can still remember freshman year 4 years ago. At this time 4 years ago I was probably studying on the bridge with Ben....and now I'm getting ready to marry him. Cuteness, huh? I hope everyone is having a great Mother's Day!

Wake-up Call

Oh my gosh I have been so busy lately!!!  Last night, as I was recognizing that the weekend was over (and as I was dreading the coming week) I thought of something......

this weekend: final exams

next weekend: BEN & I GRADUATE

the following weekend: WE GET MARRIED

This is so weird.  I'm extremely excited, but it's so weird to have such huge events happen within a week of each other.  It seems like after this weekend our life is going to be on jet-speed because we are picking up and moving soon after we get married!  Things really won't settle down for us until at least the beginning of July.  And even then I'll still be getting used to military life.

So if you get a minute, send up a prayer for me and Ben.  I know starting with this week we'll both be getting a little stressed.  

I can't wait to marry this guy in 19 days!!

Kentucky Derby 2009

While I won't be sitting in the stands in my fabulous hat, dress, and heels watching the horse race....I will be watching it from home....in between studying for my exams (and probably wearing a sweatshirt and shorts). However, I just thought I'd take the time to remind you to pick your horses! My mom always used to cut out the names of the horses from the newspaper and put them in a hat the first Saturday of every May. We'd draw names out of the hat and we'd each end up with 5 or 6 horse names...so that gave us a pretty good chance of winning. I've never bet money on it, but it's always fun to pick the right horse. So for my pick for the 135th Kentucky Derby:
