My favorite books

So thanks to Facebook, I got the idea to list some of my favorite books I've ever read.  (I love reading, so I'm really hoping others will take this idea and give some suggestions on their blogs)  Keep in mind that this list is probably going to change within the next few months (once I get to reading the rest of the Twilight series *wink)  So without further ado:

1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.  (Now this, I can undoubtedly say, will always be my number 1 read)

2. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.  (I know.  It jumped right up to #2.)

3. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen.

4. The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger.

5. The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.

6. Emma by Jane Austen.  (Are you seeing a theme here?)

7. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling.

8. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.

9. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.

10. The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi.

When I find favorite authors I tend to stick with them.  That's why I feel the need to branch out, hoping I can get a few suggestions.

We have VERY similar taste in books! I love Pride and Prejudice, Emma and Twilight of course. I haven't read The Devil Wears Prada but I've seen the movie. Is the book different? Also have you ever read a book called Rumors? You might enjoy it. It's set in the 1800's in high society NY

I love your choices.... I just got a flashback to early high school and reading the true confessions of charlotte doyle for the first time. Unforgettable. I love that book.

Try Maeve Binchy Books - "Circle of Friends" and others.

Ohhhh...I just remember this one too. If you love mysteries check out an author named Stuart Woods. His Stone Barrington series is AMAZING. They run in order so you have to start with the first one because they build.

Um, so my list would be almost identical to yours...crazy! I kept scrolling down saying, "I love that book" over and over. Try Jodi Picoult, she has a lot of good ones!

That is quite the list!! Of course Twilight will always be #1 in my heart :)

Can you believe I'm a huge Jane Austen fan, but have never actually read any of her books? Maybe that will be a goal of mine this summer after the wedding-- to read all of those books!

I have tried about a dozen times to read Jane Austen, but it just doesn't happen. I have no idea why because I love to read.

Jodi Picoult is one of my favorites especially "My Sister's Keeper." And you're a sister, so you will totally appreciate the book and probably bawl like a baby. Also, Phillipa Gregory is really good if you like historical fiction like Henry VIII time period.
